Weekly Writer

Hello Readers,

We had to write 2 paragraphs for homework. The teacher would give us the subject. Can you guess what the subject was from what I wrote?

Be quiet, I said in a whisper. My mom is looking for me. She can't find me because I'm in my secret place. My secret place is on the stairs. I go to my secret place when I am sad, frustrated, confused, mad and bored.

At my secret place I can spy on my mom and dad, hang upside down, and do what ever I want to do. After I leave my secret place I feel playful, joyful, happy and sometimes dizzy. I love my secret place and if you come to my secret place you would like it too!!!

    Well, I suppose that I could guess the obvious and go with "My Secret Hide-Away" or "My Secret Place", but then, these titles are indeed too obvious, right?

    What about, "My Magical Stairs" or "Secret Magic"? Or something quite different like, "What Turns Sadness into Happiness"? :-)))

Hello Readers, Today we went to a book signing and I was very happy! There was a lot of people, there was a girl tugging at my leg. Nikki Grimes said that she wanted us to dream on. I had a book about BARACK OBAMA signed by Nikki Grimes and illustrator Bryan Collier. I asked, what made you want to write a book about Barack Obama? She paused for a few seconds and said, " Yes I love to write, it would be lots of publicity, and it would bring attention to my other books and writings. Once the research began, she began to like him, she began to understand his message, leaning more led to greater appreciation. Following his campaign ups and downs made my heart jump." The book was a "crash book." In December of 2007, the publisher contacted her and requested 3 weeks for research and writing, as opposed to the usual 3 to 4 months for book research alone. Math Test

Hello Readers, I have a Math test on Friday, February 13,2009 about congruent, similar figures, symmetry, flip, slide, turn. This is what I have learned: Congruent is a shape that is the same size and same shape. Similar figure is a figure that is a shape that is a smaller size of the same shape. Symmetry is a shape that you can fold in half and it looks the same on both sides. Flip is when a shape is flipped. Slide is when a shape moves but does not change shape. Turns is when a shape has a point that moves in any direction.
